William and Eliza Chaundy left Oxford for America, with their son Francis being born in New York in 1835. They settled in the coal townships of Pennsylvania. Chaundys still live in Shamokin, PA.
William and Eliza's grandson George, a machinist, moved his family to Detroit, Michigan, home of the US car industry. Hence, there are still Chaundys in the Detroit area.
William's younger brother Thomas Shaw Chaundy is also found in America along with their elder sister Susannah Amelia Chaundy (Coxhead).
